Duelling Roys.

Phils picked up Houston Astros ace Roy Oswalt today! It was a trade I'm not so happy with but hopefully after Oswalt takes the mound a few times all will be good. His is pitching tomorrow. The reason I'm not so help is what they gave up for him. They traded J.A. Happ and two speedy prospects, outfielder Anthony Gose and shortstop Jonathan Villar. Houston then traded Gose to Toronto. I'm not to concerned about the minor leaguers, but Happ!? He finished second in the rookie of the year running last year. He has been hurt a while this year but the dude is a great pitcher and I for some reason really liked the guy. He seems to be a cool dude. He also smoked the Astros with 5 IP, 5k, 6h 8-0 win back in April. Welp, this is baseball and the way things go. I wish him the best.

With the double Roys in the pin things are looking good for us, especially since we're hot right now only 2.5 games out of first!

New puppy.

Meet Miller! Our newest edition to the family. He is around 6 weeks old. He is a terrier lab mix, all black and makes a perfect fit. One of Mary's co-workers dogs had pups, and it gets a little strange here. The terrier was the female and got impregnated by 2 males so she had 2 different breed mixes. 5 husky pups and 1 lab. The huskies were very beautifully marbled and they had no problems giving them away. But this little guy was another story. Solid black dogs are often over looked, they have some sort of sigma attached to them. "Black labs or lab mixes, are euthanized at a horrifying rate at many pounds & shelters because people pass them up for lighter colored dogs" Mary and I took 2 trips the the pound when looking for our first dog. She liked a small dog the most after looking at all the dogs the 1st trip. Second trip the small dog was gone but we fell in love with our little man Silas, our FIRST all black lab mix. Never crossed our mind to pass on him like most. Anyways (tangent much?) No one wanted this little guy. Mary begged me and I caved, haha. Let the fun begin!

Right after we met the guys he was tuckered out.

Whoa! There's a mini Enzo!

Bye Bye Bulluck

Welp, It's a sad sad day in the Titans world. Long time Titan Keith Bulluck and captain has parted ways with the team. He is now a NY Giant. If there was any team I'd hope he'd go to it would be them! He is from New York and has announced that numerous times. He is one of those players that really proves there are good guys in the sport. It will be strange seeing him in another uniform but one strange/lucky events that will take place this season is the Titans will play the Giants this season.

After spending 10 seasons with the Titans he signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Giants.

Food worth a trip

Steak and pepperoni bread. Made by Marchiano's Bakery. Best food on earth period!!

Hats from Philly

Went to Philly in search of one cool Phils hat and came back with these 3. Blue is from Citizens Bank Park after watching Halladay beat the Braves. It's their alternate hat, with the cream jerseys. Whalers is from the Philly Mitchell & Ness store, Howe and Hull played for them and I got to meet both, plus I love the logo. Grey hat came out while on the trip and was on a mission to find it. Mission complete.

Fox and hound game 2

At Gillanes for the cup game!

Mall, Beths, Nancy's...

After the second cup game we drove over to King of Prussia mall. Hung there for a bit then headed to meet Tom and Beth from dinner. After dinner we headed to Nancy's house to meet up with Mary's family. The restaurant was only about a mile from their house. How crazy is that?

We hung out there for a while, caught up, had some beers and played some pool.

Off to Philly

Mary and I took off for Philly today. We left around 6:20am in hopes to knock the trip out in one day. Mission accomplished but man it sucked! Apparently the shortest way distance wise to Philly is through Baltimore but it is by far the longest. The nav led us down the wrong path making a 9-10 hour trip a 12 hour one. We did have a 40 minute lunch break and Chipotle (Mary's favorite Mexican grill). We arrived at grandmoms at 6:20pm wore out and ready to chill.

Phillies started at 7:05 so a call to Ardmore Pizza was made and finally vacation was off to a proper start!
