Relaxing day off

I woke up sorta early and went for a run. Things were still quiet when I returned and I decided to wash my car since it was so nice out. After the car was nice a shiny I came back in and Cam was on the couch watching some TV. Mary had gone to the dentist so we headed out to find some food. We went to Chick Fil A cause Cam wanted one of their chicken biscuits. Apparently they aren't in NYC, which is strange. Well we got there at 11am and they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. Ohwell, that's all he wanted so we left. I had to get some dog and cat food and we were meeting Mary, Nette and Justin at TOT at 12. So he decided he could hold out til lunch. After the pet store we ran into Wal-mart for an ammo check. By that time we were ready to roll out west.

Lunch was great and Cam really liked it (I knew he would). Dick's! Ammo check! they had .223!

Once back at home we popped in the new Fast and Furious and waited for Michael to call. We were meeting up at Byrd's to shot at some point. He called and we headed that way. Cam didn't have much shooting experince and wanted some. We shot for a little while then it was time to the parents house to visit with the English folks. After that we head home for the evening festivites, James (cousin) tagged along.

I don't remember a whole lot for this night but I'll try.
We meet up at the Hill and our first shot was a wacko jacko in honor to the late great Michael Jackson. He had just passed away. We did another. I had a beer and thus the haze begins. We headed to market square to meet up with Mary's family and some friends to enjoy some live music. We wanted to show Cam Knoxville could be a happen place! It was the last Sundown of the year so it worked out nicely. We ended up at Shonos and our buddy was working and kept handing Mary shots of sake. Of course I got a few (love that stuff!) By this time is was get dark and the we decided to head back to The Hill. Cam and I rode with Alicia and Jackie and there was a fifh person but I'm drawing a blank. James (soon to be bro-in-law) drove Mary and some others.

This is were the events just run together, and it ended up better a semi bad night.
I remember playing beer pong and Mary's cousin Nicole kept pestering James (cousin). It got to me and Mary both. Mary told her dad to tell her to knock it off but she didn't. Well somehow (mixed with alcohol of course) Mary and I got into it. We somehow got to the point of calling of the wedding, the whole nine. It was ridiculous! Mary and I soon realized we weren't even mad at each other we were both mad at the situation and smoothed all that over. I wish we would of smoothed it over a little quicker, several people that night saw me in a state I never wish to be public again...and I'll just leave it at that. I was just pissed at the whole situation and I walked down to the KMA (Mary knew I was headed that way). James (cousin) caught up with me there and we had a nice heart to heart. While talking Mary showed up with a hilariously drunk Cameron. We jumped in the car and headed home. We all discussed the crazy craziness of the night while laughing at Cam's inability to hold his head up in the front seat. Also for those keeping track Mary had stopped drinking to sober up to drive, she is such a good girl like that.

The next morning...

First day off before wedding, Cam's arrival

Today was our first day off on our long stint of days off. Mary has 2.5 weeks off ahead of her and I have 9 days. We slept in and woke up hungry! We headed to one of our favs, Wasabi! After a nice lunch we did a little shopping at the mall. I picked up some new swimming suits and flip-flops for the honeymoon.

We originally thought, like up until yesterday, that Cam was coming in at 11:30am. Somehow we miss communicated and it was pm instead, suck! Well I had already planned out our night which included drinks, meeting all my friends at once and then catching Transformers 2. I even bought his ticket already. Well everything went down as planned, minus Cam and James bought my extra ticket. We had: Michael, James, Joey, Sean, Sean's girl, Byrd, Kristen, Travis, Jason, Clif, Molly, Keith, Mary and I. A few of us met at the bar for a few drinks before. Some of my friends seemed intimidated by the antics that take place in bars and went and got in line at the theater. Ohwell it was a ton of fun. The movie on the other hand....not so much. Not as good as the first one story wise but loved all the robot fighting scenes, I mean how could you not??

After the movie a few of us (the ones that didn't have to work the next day) headed back to Downtown grill. They were only serveing their late night menu, which isn't much so we decided to leave. We went to the Applebees out west. Byrd gave me all the groosemen gifts he engraved for me and man they looked sharp.

Mary ate and I had a beer and it was time to pick up Cam!! He walked out of the doors just as we pulled up, perfect timing. We headed to the house and we spent a few hours catching up. We decided tomorrow was going to be crazy and decided to hit the hay.

Keith art

Showed Keith a pic of my little eye problem. He made it all better.

Michael uses another one of his 9 lives...

Last night Mary and I had just finished cleaning up the house and were about to hit the bed when my phone hang. It was Michael and in a very calm, not him at all voice, "Hey man, can I talk to Mary?" I could instantly tell something was wrong. I handed over the phone and stay in the room. By the conversation I knew something happened. Mary said, "We'll be right there." She hung up and said, "Michael was in a wreck, got t-boned at Krogers on Middlebrook and can't get out of the car and can't feel his legs." We scrambled to get on the road ASAP and headed towards Krogers. James got there first and said he was calm and not complaining to much about the pain.

We turned onto Middlebrook and James calls saying he is in the ambulance and on his way to UT medical. We called Donna and swung by to pick her up. She had just backed over the neighbors mailbox in a hurry to get to him, oops.

So we jump on the interstate and just so happen to get on right beside the ambulance Michael was in. They didn't have the lights on and weren't driving all crazy through traffic. We followed them all the way there and the Sparadlin's were right behind us. Justin was filling us in on more details. Said the guy that hit him was so drunk he could barely walk and was arrested on the spot. He was driving home (east) on middlebrook when this drunk idiot ran the red light from the Krogers centercenter, crossing over to center bluff, and t-boned him. Justin said it took all he had to not drag the guy out of the cop car and give him a piece of his mind.

Once they got him settled in the ER they allowed Joey and Donna back to see him. Joey text me saying he was talking and seemed ok. Joey came out and Mary went back, she came back and lost it, just started balling. Michael was very worried about his leg and got teary eyed when he saw Mary. He couldn't move or feel his left leg. He was taken up for x-rays and we were all awaiting the news. By this time there was at least 20 of us waiting.

We were are chit chatting when the ER doors opened and out comes Michael, with a slight limp. We were all shocked! He says, "Alright I'm ready to go home!" We all laughed and were all extremely happy to see him in that good of shape. He was covered in cuts from glass and bandages but visually looked like his old self.

This is his second wreak in bascially the same spot on Middlebrook. Either his fault and both sent him to the same ER which he walked out of a few hours later.

Here is poor Blue Thunder
As you can see he was hit pretty hard and even the 14 year old air bag worked!

Wedding Programs done!

After printing and assembling a little over 40 of these Mary noticed a small typo. So I have to started over. Luckily had just enough paper and ink. Unluckily our computer chair lasts about a hour before it turns into a torture devise.

I didn't trust anyone else to make these so I did it all myself. So my weekend = wedding programs :)

Designed, printed and hand assembled 217 wedding programs.
Each have 2 1/8 eyelets acting as a spine and a guide hole was punched for each. It was quite a bit of work but I think it was very well worth it!

HCD Still going!

Lost a little more than I thought I even could! I haven't been on track with the p90x as of late due to a pump blood vessel or something of the sort in my right eye. At work last eye everyone kept asking me want was up with my eye so I went and checked it out and found this!

Pretty awesome for 2 weeks before my wedding! This is what it looked like on Friday the 19th.
Fingers crossed it'd be gone before this weekend!

Back on to the workouts. I have just been running as much as possible. Yesterday and today I made it a mile and half!

Flooded!

Today it rain like crazy for about a hour in the middle of the day.

I got home and started my workout (which I shouldn't of been doing) when I needed to go grab a stool. Walked into the closet on Mary's side to grab it. For some reason I decided that day to workout without shoes on. As I was looking for the stool I stepped on soaking wet carpet! I soon realized that the carpet closest to the wall all the way across was wet and reached about 2 feet into the room.
Everything was soaked so I started moving everything. I ran down to Jason's to grab my shop vac and on the way stopped and talked to the HOA president. I started vacuuming and Mary got home and started helping. Gloria (the HOA president) came over to take some pictures and said she would ask the other HOA members and get back with us. We called Worley builders in search for some answers and surprisingly they agreed to stop by Friday to take a look. We ran over to my parents to grab some fans. We left the fans on it for the night and all the next day. The guy from Worley stopped by at 3:45 on Friday and we discussed. He thinks that it rain so hard so fast that the drains couldn't handle it and the wet just built backed up. You can see in the image below that grass is 3 sliding strips up which is possibly revealing how high the water was actually standing. He also said that he hear it rained 6 inches in an hour and that house in Knoxville are built to handle 2 inches in 30 minutes! So he took some pics and said he'd think on it and let us know his thougts on Monday.

We have never seen our porch this dirty after a rain. So we are thinking it was a pretty fluke thing but we probably need to do something to prevent it in the future.

Engaged for a year

One year ago Mary and I were in NYC and I popped the big question. On June 16th, 2008. Well yesterday we thought we'd celebrate a little. We went to Chesapeakes for a quiet little dinner.
Got a nice bottle of Riesling and we both order filet mignon. We went to the bar and did lemon drop shots which is what we did at the View in time square after I proposed. Here is the soon to be right after the food arrived. We talked about how crazy it was that the year has passed and that we were less than 2 weeks for being married! Also we discussed how strange it was that the table top was made of the exact same material and was the same pattern as our counter tops at home.
Here is my 9oz filet mignon and since we were celebrating I figured I tried some goodies in my baked potato.
Well for being known for their seafood, I was very impressed with the steak. It was one of the best I have had! Mary really enjoyed hers too!

After we walked up to market square and went to the marble slab. I got the first ice cream cone I have had in over 6 months!

I'm still under 185! :)

Lakeness!

Went to the lake again! 3 Sundays in a row! Weather was beautiful! The weather gods better not be using up all the beautiful weekends in June to have it rain the last weekend of the month! ohhh...I won't be happy!

Had another great day minus the fact that Joey took off with the boat to work on the perfect pass and left ALL the towels on the back seat to be blown out into the water. My Ferrari towel is now floating around at Milton Hill somewhere.

Drank a little too much (the drank too much and gained an extra pound or two I could of avoided not the drank too much that I couldn't walk, just to be clear :) ) but didn't get burnt this time!

The Hangover

Travis, Michael, Shawn, Mary and I went to see The Hangover last night after work. Mary was able to leave work right at 4 to meet us for a 4:50 showing. Well that was probably one of the funniest movie I have seen in a long time. It was just non stop hilariousness!

After Travis and Lauern invited us over for dinner. They grilled up some chicken, tilapia and chicken spinach hot dogs. Had broccoli and squash as sides. Everything on the menu was great! After we chilled on the back porch and talked while letting the dogs run around all crazy.

Shot an AR-15 for the first time!

Michael and I had plans to go shoot after the lake at Byrds house. We usually hook up with one of Michael's friends parents, the Householders, at party cove for a little while and hang out. Well we got to talking about shooting and guns. Michael mentioned that Mr. Householder was a big gun nut and I just asked what he had. He replied with, "What do you like?" I laughed and said, "How about an AR-15?" He replied, "Got 2." So I asked a ton of questions and Michael chimed in and asked him to come shoot with us. He said he may. We talked a bit more then headed in. We got to Byrd's and started shooting. At the time I forgot all about him possibly coming over. Well he showed up with a large bag over his shoulder. I joking ask, "What ya got there?" "I'll show ya," he said. He pulled out an AR made of an Olympic Arms lower and DPMS upper. It was also surprisingly equipped with an EOTech sight. He handed it to me and told me how to turn the EOTech on. I was in heaven. He then said, "let's shot it!" We walked to within about 50 yards or so of some barrels with a powerade bottle and an old propane tank on top of them. He put the clip in and I pulled the slide back. Ready....aim...fire!! Nothing...oops. It didn't chamber a round. Pulled the slide again and round chambered. I aimed and shot my first .223! It was getting dark so it was difficult to line up the EOTech holograph with the front sight. After about 5 shots I asked where to put the EOTech dot in relation to the front sight. His reply, "Disregarded the front sight and use the EOTech dot only." I was surprised and took aim again. Hit the powerade bottle next I hit the propane tank and sparks were flying. My last shot hit the top of the tank and sent it flying. Since my AR addiction I have said the EOTech was crazy expensive and I wouldn't need one. Oh man! I do now! You can be super accurate very fast with that thing, it's just crazy. I thanked him about 10,000 times and he said we'll them both out next time when we have some more light!

Now I'm even that much more excited about getting mine!

Now back to nursing this sun burn...

Rockin the lake!

At the lake again! Got burnt this time! Just the back and I'm really
not sure how. It hurts pretty bad. Plus I'm on the lake RIGHT now!!!

Firday, Saturday, Sunday...

Friday night Alicia, one of Mary's coworkers invited us (and the dogs) to hang out. She has a big huge fenced in back yard. When we got there her and Jackie were trying to start a fire in a little fire pit. Enzo took off into the back yard and Silas just chillin on the porch. I helped with the fire and it eventually turned into a paper fire. Alicia was using old bills as kindling and she just keep throwing them in. The wood was semi wet and didn't want to light. We had a good time hanging out and talking. Ended up making smors too!

Saturday I went over to folks house to work on my car a bit. I headed up washing it. Mom and one of the neigbhors came over and we talked when I was washing. Talked about wedding stuff and what not. I pulled the Evo in the garage and worked a while on it coming to the conclusion that the 2 bolts holding the o2 housing and exhaust together were missing! I was in search of a rattle and I now think thats my problem! Freaking monkeys put this thing together.

That night Mary and I met Kristin and Dad at O'Charleys for dinner and we gave them our wedding rings to hold on to until the wedding. After we had a little get together at the condo. Nette and Justin brought there new baby Rottweiler. Her name is Caddy and she is just 5 weeks old. She is super cute.
Alicia came along with one of her friends who also brought a dog. Her name was Indiana. Her and Enzo had a good time together. Tyler and his lady friend came along with all the Henkel bros and Canada, Byrd and Shawn came with their ladies as well. We watched some of the Stanley cup final game 1 and the end of the Magic Cavs game 6. After we hit the beer pong tables. Justin and I teamed up and man what a team we were! I hit a cup and he hit another, got the balls back. I hit a cup and he hits the same, they drink 3 and balls back again. There are 3 cups left at this point. Well, I hit again and guess what?...he hits the same cup!! We gave them the redemption shot, meaning they both had to hit the same cup. Didn't happen. Quickest game of pong I have every seen! We thought our luck was to continue in the next round after we both hit but that wasn't the case, we lost but it was close.

Sunday was lake day! We headed to the lake around 11:30. We met Michael, Joey and Alicia there. We head out, found a nice spot for Michael to wakeboard and stopped. I was in the water instantly! Once Mike was ready I climbed in and Joey asked me to drive. So I gave it a shot. So I drove a boat for the first time and pulled a wakeboarder on the first go. After Michael was done I went. I couldn't hold out any longer. Took me 2 tries to get up and once I did my body let me know I hadn't had any food since the night both. I rode a little and tried a small jump and went down. I couldn't go again til I got some food in me. So Joey went and then they decided my driving skills were up to par and they wanted to go doubles. So my second time ever piloting a boat was pulling 2 wakeboarders!

We got the call that James and Canada had arrived at the dock so we went to pick them up and head back out. We found the Householders and hung out with them for a while (Michael's friend's parents). After that James hit the waves and they changed out and did doubles. I never went again, decided out to chance it. I did how ever learn how to do a back flip! I did my first one ever off the side of the boat. Michael and I also did tow! You hang on to the back of the boat, feet and body in the water. It's pretty fun and I can imagine it's more fun when your bathing suit fits you and you don't feel like its coming off the whole time. We pulled ourselves up onto the deck and did backflips of the moving boat! haha!

Well we had a blast! I didn't get burned and look forward to going again this weekend!!

We all went to TOT for dinner to cap off a great weekend.
