Finally made it back into the lineup last night as we took the field for game 3. I DH, hitting 10th. Our bats were hot! I went up in the first with a man on second and third and no outs! 2 RBI single! The inning ends 10 - 0. The D held up and only allowed one run! My next at bat was an RBI double and I slid into second under the short. I was knocked in and we went on to second a few more runs. My 3rd and finally at bat was a RBI fly out. The game ended after the 4th inning with the slaughter rule. Thanks the Michael's inside the park homer! Finished up 18-1! That's more like it!
They had lost the previous 2 games without me so I guess I'm a lucky charm, hehe.

Softball - game 5-6
Double header night! I started right field in the first game. The folks came to watch too. We got off to a good start but let them catch up towards the end but still managed to play out the win. I went 3-4 with a few RBIs.
Game 6 was at 10 and started right after the first game. I DH'd. We played horrible D in this one. 13-0 in the first. My second at bat with an out got us started. Scored 8 runs. Brandon (pitcher) hurt his leg running the bases so I came in to run for him, scored from second. We stayed hot and played a little better on D and managed to tie it up in the top of the 7th. Michael was up and ripped one to the fence, infield homerun! Once he got back to the dugout we hear the ump, "He swing the bat towards me, automatic out, inning over!" That was the go ahead run! 16-15 us! Dropped us back down to a tie. Just ridiculous! They came out in the bottom and finished with a walk off hit. We gave the ump an ear full and he went and hung out with the other team after so it seemed something fishy was going on.

Softball - game 4
Tonight we played at 8 and practiced at the church next to the Henkel house. I had a great practice in the field and turns out it'd be the only fielding I'd do. I DH'd in the game and went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs. All singles but hey that's not bad.
We took an early lead and never looked back. 15-9 making us 4-0. There was 2 other teams that were undefeated and we just beat one of them. Not sure how the other team did tonight.
Next week we got a double header and I was promised a start!

The Garage Softball game 3
Game 3 is upon us. We met up at Karns middle to practice some then headed to the fields. I spoke with Jinx (our coach) and he let me know I would be starting the dug out due to my gall blander issues. Which was fine and he was just looking out for me. We had 5 extra players today so I figured I'd be riding the bench the whole game.
We played Grace Baptist and for some reason they picked to hit first. This was right after a game that was won with a walk off double. Ohwell, they were hot in the first scoring 7 on us. We put up 1 in the bottom and made it look like it was going to be a long night.
Going into the bottom of 6th 13-11 them, we had 8 minutes left. Out, 2 Singles and an out. 5 minutes left. Single, run scores 13-12. Double, 13-14! Fly out and we take the field up by one! After 2 outs they had a runner on first and second and dude hits a rocket down the third base line....foul! Next pitch the same thing, only it stays fair but Luke, the left fielder gets under and wraps up the game with 40 seconds on the clock. Win number 3 for The Garage!

The Garage Softball game 2
We had a bye last week so game 2 was upon us. Unfortunately I went a little overboard last night with food and beverages. I wasn't feeling well enough to make the game but the guys pulled it out! With a late could back we won game 2.

The Garage Softball game 1
Brian and I have joined forces with Michael and several of his friends (now mine too) to take on the world of amateur mens softball. We are called the garage and have only practice once before today's game.
We played a very young team and both teams run up the score. I was up in the top of the 7th (only 7 innings) with 2 outs, runner on 2nd and 3rd, down by 3. Took a ball when smashed a single right up the middle scoring a run and sending a man to third. We ended up taking the led and holding it in the bottom of the 7th to secure win number 1! I went 3-4 with 4 RBIs (one shouldn't of counted).
We have so minor fielding troubles but that will get better with practice and time.
