The FDE AR-15

With the Holiday sales bug going around I couldn't pass up the chance to start my next build! I have the hardest part out of the way, the stripped lower. I have the BRD (black rifle disease) bad! But the lower was half off on Spikes Tactical's site. Only problem is you have to have an FFL transfer, meaning it has to be sent to someone with a firearm license. So I called around and the cheapest one I could find was in Clinton, a pawn shop just 6 miles from our condo. They were super nice and the deal was done.

This past weekend the stock, forearm, grip and trigger guard came in. I had ordered the LPK a while back with an order for the other AR, it was on sale.

I'm going with the FDE (flat dark earth) two tone look. The rest of the parts needed to complete the lower are on order. After they come in I'll probably wait a while before buying anything else. trying to decide if I want to build it up completely myself, go SBR (requires a 200$ tax and FBI background check, or a Addax GPU. We shall see cause for now I just need to get better at shooting my other one.

Titans...it's all over...sorta

Well the boys couldn't get it done. Chargers rolled over us 42-17. Not much to say besides the coaching staff needs to be replaced. CJ once again proves he is the best running back in the league. You'd think with such a one sided score they had shut CJ down. Welp, they sure didn't. He had his 10th consecutive 100 yard game and his biggest game of the last 3 with 142 yards. Putting him just 128 yards away from being only the 6th back in NFL history to reach the 2,000 yard mark. He also has some other records he could obtain.

What he needs to reach the records:
128 yards for 2,000
234 to break Dickerson's record
75 yards to break Faulk's record.

Picture this! Chris Johnson breaks Adrian Peterson's single game rushing record of 296 yards. That would put CJ in the record books in 4 categories, in one season, in the final game!

We are playing the Seahawks in our final game this Sunday at 4 in Settle. They are a weak team and can gave up big runs, but are they preparing and coming into this game with stopping CJ as the main goal? What else do they have to play for? A win for us puts us at 8-8, 500! Thats remarkable considering the start we had.

We I look forward to the game, but hope Sunday comes slow. I will be back from my trip to Boston and well rested but the day marks the last of the '09 season for the Titans, which is always a sad day for me. Let's just hope I'm making CJ2K shirts this time next week!

Starting my new year...in Boston!

That's right! I got a call yesterday from Jason Zent right after getting off a conference call with him. He tells me he is very appreciative of all the work I have done for them and he has 2 tickets for the Winter Classic at Fenway Park for me if I want them! I was shocked, those are some HARD tickets to get plus it's the Flyers v. Bruins! I have never been to Fenway and never seen the Flyers, strange that I get to see both at the same time, haHA! He also says there's a hotel deal, 132$ a night at a downtown Boston hotel! My initial thought was, no I can't go. I knew Mary couldn't due to work. I thought more about and after I looked up airplane tickets I decided to go for it. My cousin James offered to help me with the plane ticket after I asked him to meet me there. It's about a 6 hour drive from Philly but he was more than willing to do it.

This obviously limits the amount of fun I can have on new years eve but it's cool. I can DD if need be. I might just stay up all night too, we'll see. We are still undecided on which party to go to or if we are going to have one ourselves.

Welp, I still can't believe they thought of me and got me tickets, I'm so excited!

RIOT INK: First big poster run

We got our first big poster job for a 10 Years show. The poster was and interesting design Alex thought up and Travis brought to life. It was a 3 color design and we need 105. 25 to give away to go up in shops, 75 to sell at the show and 5 for us.

Travis and I started on the first color around 4:30.

Alex showed up around 6:20 when we finished the first color. He started some stuff he needed to do and Travis and I ran to grab a bit to eat at... you guessed it, Hooters.

After din din, we started on color number 2, the black. I had to run home to let the pups out. After I return the black was about 30% done. Alex was printing and Travis and I were hanging/trying to find a place to put them. You'll see below we had them everywhere!

It was 10pm by this point so we decided to run 20 in the 3rd/money color that were to be delivered tomorrow.

3rd and final color, gold! I think it turned out great. It was a ton of fun and we still have 85 more to run the gold on. Travis can't decided last night if he wanted to knock them out during the day Wednesday or if he wanted to wait until I could get over there. I'm guessing he'll wait, haha.

Work showcase

We recently started working with Scripps on some pushdown banners. This is our first one. It came to us designed and I animated it and added the code. It went seamless and hopefully we'll get many more. Below is a screen shot for it "expanded" on foodnetwork.com. It pushes the whole site down and when closing, slides the content back up, pretty neat.

You can see it now on:

Titans in December!

Well the Titans are doing what they needed to do, win! We walked over the Rams last week and CJ didn't have a big game as expected. Only got 117 yards rushing...hahaha, only. Today we played the Dolphins, which looked to be a tough match up. Could of gone either way. Titans come out strong and VY and Gage hooked up on 2 beautiful TD passes. Miami has only allowed one 100 yard rusher this year so a big day for CJ wasn't expected. Well, he did it again 104 yards, 9 consecutive 100 yard games! Just 270 yards to go! Bulluck got hurt in the 3rd and we sorta dropped the ball. The Dolphins were able to catch up due to one player in my opinion, Nick Harper. They attacked his side all game! They through to Cortland's side maybe twice. Anyways they got within 2 and had lined up for and I told them, "They are going to give it to Ricky!" Guess what they did, and he got in for the 2 to tie it. Grrrrr... Dolphins won the coin flip so here we go. 3rd and long, Griffin comes up with a pick and Miami throws in a personal foul putting us in field goal range to start. 3 short CJ runs later Rob lines up for a 38-40 yarder. I told him if he hits it I'll forgive him for the Steelers misses. Welp, he is forgiven, he nailed it. 27-24.

We are at 500, 7 and 7 which is simply amazing given our start. We are now still in the hunt for a playoff spot and tied with 5 other teams. Besides us winning out (beating the Chargers is going to be our toughest game of the year) lots of other things need to go our way. Judging by the numbers and schedules it's not very likely but who cares it's a great ride and been very fun to watch. Also even given Sunday, anything can happen!

GO TITANS!!

DMGx Xmas Party

We had the company Christmas party this year at Wade's house again. Second time in a row. Each year it gets smaller and smaller, which is very unfortunate because it use to be huge! That was my 5th xmas party with this company, sorta crazy to look back.

Well, I of course had a little fun...no I actually didn't drink to much, my fun was had with my wardrobe. I have a picture I'll add later.

It's later!

We sat around a talked for a while then headed home. Not a big crowd this time, half of the office didn't even come.

The all over the place day.

I had a crazy day today and the best part was I spent the most of it out of the office! I had a 9:30 appointment (more to come, sorta secret for now). After that I knocked out my xmas shopping. Pretty much done with that! I got back to the office around 12:15, Brian and I planned lunch with Travis. It was Travis's Birthday so we met him at Cafe 4. Had a nice meal and I picked up Travis's tab. He drove us back to the office since it was 30 degrees out. I just finished up some work and now it's time for dinner and some football!

Worst traffic day ever!

Today I rolled to Travis's after work and decided late to turn around
and roll down central. Cross the interstate take a left on central and
guess what?! Construction with detour. I turn onto the road opposite
of the detour thinking I'll find a back way. Wrong, cemetery! So next
I follow the detour over the interstate only to realize that road runs
into Clinton hwy. Traffic is backed up not to mention I'm behind a
bus! After what I can tell 3 light change cycles I make it to a road I
can turn right on and find my way to Inskip rd.

After Travis's house I'm heading home. I crest the hill in the road in
central to se the light at merchants is green and it turns yellow as a
semi pulls out of Pilot to the light in front of me. The semi blocks
all 3 lanes (each way and the turn lane). People can barely get by
coming the other way. The light on merchants changes...no green for
us, a guy at Pilot pulls out and squeezes his car between me and the
semi. Green light for merchants, the light for us never went green.
Guess the semi wasn't heavy enough for the sensor.

Light goes red for merchants again, no green for us. The semi driver
decides to run the red and slick in front of me follows. I'm nxt at
the light and sure enough on the 3rd cycle I got a green.

Each trip took 30+ minutes when should of taken 15 or less.

I hate traffic!!

My poor Mary

Arlowe the Henkel family dog (age 13) was put down late lastnight. She gets to work and finds out a lady that's been with Walgreens for 25 years and runs the register at her store past away this morning from a heart attack. She had an ink cartridge explode all over herself. A customer slipped in the parking lot and broke her tail bone and one of her best friends grandmother just died!

Man what a bad day. Going to have to get the bubble bath going for her accompanied by some flowers and a chilled glass of wine!

AR goodness

Finally got it all together. Had to order a Mil-Spec buffer tube to fit the stock. Can't wait to get it out again! You'll also notice the LPK! Yup that's nice, going to build another one. Going to the gun show this weekend in search of a lower!

Titans

Welp, the Titans winning streak comes to an end. But only comes to an end at the hands of ourselves, again. We shot ourselves in the foot... a few times. Colts remain unbeaten due to bad play calling and inability to execute. Washington dropped a prefect pass that no doubt would of been a TD. Britt gives up on a route while the CB doesn't and gets and INT which leads to a TD and Hall's fumble. The 2 blown 4th and goals killed us though. We defiantly showed promise and no doubt would of won with perfect execution, but I think we'll finish out the season strong and CJ still has his changes at history, just 491 yards to reach 2k! We are playing 4 teams that aren't exactly known for run stopping:

vs. St.Louis Rams : 28th Rush Defense: Allows 146 yards a game.
vs. Miami Dolphins: 11th Rush Defense: Allows 107 yards a game.
vs. San Diego Chargers: 21st Rush Defense: Allows 121 yards a game.
at Seattle Seahawks: 17th Rush Defense: Allows 110 yards a game.

Still a fun season to watch! GO TITANS!

Silas in the snow for the first time this year and it was a good one!

Find the cat.

Mary thought of the brilliant idea to put our overwhelming amount of
dirty clothes in the spa tub (yeah we have a lot of clothes). Earlier
today I tackled Mary into the tub and we tried to get the guys to join
us. Mako got the closest and in doing so he decided it'd be a good
place to sleep! Haha.

Crazy paint job

This van was parked in the lot by my office. Had to snap a shot.
